THE BATTLE ON THE RIVER NERETVA

During World War II, fearing a possible Allied invasion of the Balkans, the German Army launched a major offensive against the Partisans in western Bosnia. Surrounded by the enemy, the only way out for Partisan forces and thousands of refugees was the bridge on the river Neretva.
