OPEN LECTURE: I EVEN MET BRAVE BALKANS
Interwoven with Cinedays’ dedication to promoting movies from the contemporary Balkan cinema, the open lecture will focus on the importance of integrity, the audacious artistic approach and the possibilities of contemporary cinema in the region. The lecture will be open for general public and held on Thursday, November 15th.Maša Seničić (1990) graduated in Dramaturgy at the Faculty of Drama Arts in Belgrade, where she then completed MA in Theory of Dramatic Arts and Media with a thesis “La jeunesse désaffectée in Serbian film: 2010-2015”. She has taken part in various international projects and interdisciplinary workshops, while creatively contributing to numerous festivals, among other things as one of the programmers of the Brave Balkans (Auteur Film Festival). She is one of the founders and program coordinator of Filmkultura, association for education in audiovisual culture, which has been active in the field of informal educational practices since 2013 (Mini film and Critical camp being their most prolific projects so far). In 2015 Seničić won the Mladi Dis prize for her first poetry book, whereas her literary work has been published in regional magazines and anthologies. In 2016 she enrolled PhD studies (FDA, Belgrade), where she is now pursuing both theoretical and artistic research in digital humanities. She currently lives in Belgrade, Serbia, and works as an editor, a journalist and a writer.
Dunja Nešović (1994) – BA in Film and TV production, is currently pursuing MA in Theory of dramatic arts and media on Faculty of dramatic arts in Belgrade. Has background in human rights activism, which influenced her feminist orientation in film theory. She is also interested in studying the dialectics of reality and audiovisual arts and media. Currently active in projects – Critical camp (workshops of film criticism for high school students) and Lansiranje (space-themed events), which are different by nature, but manage to capture the spectrum of her interests. She was part of the jury on Merlinka film festival in 2017.
